  if you grow up speaking english and you move to mexico you don't automatically speak spanish, know customs, understand currency, possess skills.

  for self-support or have any special insight into latino mindset.. .

  why would you expect leaving jehovah's witnesses would leave you any less ill-equipped to navigate the real world?.

  Iam, you awoke: that's a beautiful thing! Some never do...

  I was fortunate in that my parents divorced before my mom got involved with the JWs. My Dad didnt really know much about the religion, and i think he figured it was that we had something to ground us. My sibs are still in, and I often think, "there but for the grace of God go I...."

  I cannot imagine being born in, with both parents as JWs. My nephews were that, and home-schooled: they never stood a chance, the poor kids. The biggest challenge they face is the very fact that they've never faced any challenges, as they were home-schooled! I remember kids taunting me over tr flag salute, but learned to side-step and come right back at them (makes you tougher). But since they never had to deal with such challenges, they're handicapped emotionally, and trapped in the slow-lane of life...

  Terry, as you know, they even point to the multiple authors over thousands of years, speaking different languages, as PROOF that the Bible has to be Divinely-Inspired.... That's a common tactic: take a known vulnerability and spin it into a strength! Anyone who doesn't dig deeper for themselves to confirm of deny will buy into it on face value.....

  Ps don't be too hard on yourself for not looking into it: the Internet has made obtaining information so much easier. I recently had to conduct research and sought out an old book, long out of print. I found an available copy at a university nearby, and as I approached the massive old building I felt like I was performing some ancient ritual, seeking out lost knowledge in book form contained within a hallowed large room filled with stacks of paper.

  But even there, I used the internet to learn of its existence, and to find a copy: much easier...

  Hate to break up a good bar brawl, but has anyone considered contacting an editor at Arstechnica to do a write-up on this "Anon" attack against JWs? (I put "Anon attack" in quotes, because even a single individual can stage an attack under the Anon banner). Most actions have someone coordinating publicity, and this seems right up their alley (I need to check what they wrote about Anon v Scientology).

  "Why is there a problem with Anonymous obtaining the list? It isn't as if Anonymous will delete the original file. Can't the police/courts/others still verify the information?

  Where I live, they're equally likely to throw hackers in jail as pedophiles; maybe even moreso, as hackers are attacking the "man", not the most helpless... But having worked in prisons. I dare say they don't have to decide: they make them bunk up. :)

At any point in the future the proper authorities can still get ahold of this information from the WTS, unless of course the WTS destroys the information.   It's a complex legal issue pertaining to rules of evidence, that varies from state to state, country to country, to avoid the problem of "fruit from the tainted tree" ie inadmissibility of evidence obtained illegally (allegedly illegally). It CAN be avoided, but it requires consultation with a lawyer to make sure it's done properly.

  Just watch out about what is said, here in the open, as it may be used as evidence against you... Anons have even seen (what they thought was) "private" 4chan messages used against them in open court... A subpoena is an easy thing for Feds to obtain to track down people....

  The Info about past FBI infiltration of Anon, using informers who agreed to roll over on others to save their own butts, is out there. There's a case from feb 2012 where an FBI informer did exactly that, to break another case. Anon is compromised and hence dirty biz, not for the faint-of-heart....

  That's My point. This is an issue of evidentiary rules for obtaining evidence: evidence of this nature requires a search warrant if LEOs were to get it directly, but in the past even LEOs have used 3rd party informants to do their dirty work; the hand-off is crucial. Turning over potential evidence HAS TO BE DONE PROPERLY, or it renders it absolutely worthless. Hence why I'm saying the process needs to be handled after seeking competent legal advice!!!!
